How it works

01 / THE POD

A small group. Familiar faces.

Up to four kids meet in the same pod each week. It’s a small enough group for everyone to take part, get to know each other, and feel comfortable asking for help — or offering it.

Four smiling students joining an online call from home, arranged in a two-by-two grid.

02 / THE GUIDE

A friendly human to keep things going.

The same friendly guide welcomes everyone, encourages participation, and helps when someone gets stuck. They make room for kids to think for themselves, talk through ideas, and find their own way forward.

Meet Rahil, your Pie School guide.

03 / THE MATH

Bring your homework. Or your curiosity.

Kids bring their own math assignments to work on together. When there’s no homework, we keep the math going with fun problems and challenges — so there’s always something to figure out with the pod.

04 / THE ROUTINE

One weekly session. Something familiar to return to.

Meet online for 50 minutes at the same time each week, with the same guide and pod. A simple routine that gives math homework a regular place in the week — and kids a familiar group to return to.

A familiar hello, every week.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Good questions.

Is this tutoring?

Pie School is a social math homework club. Kids work alongside a small, familiar group on their own assignments, or fun math problems and challenges when there’s no homework. The guide encourages participation and helps when someone gets stuck, rather than teaching a separate lesson.

What if my child gets stuck?

That’s part of why we’re here. Kids can ask their guide or talk a problem through with the pod. The aim is to help them think through the next step and build understanding, rather than simply give them an answer.

How are pods put together?

Pods have up to four students in nearby grades. You choose a weekly time that works for your family. If a compatible group isn’t ready yet, your student can join the waitlist — we’ll invite you when a place is available.

What does my child need to join?

Something to write with and a device that can join a Google Meet call with a working microphone. Bring any math homework they have; when there’s none, we provide fun math problems and challenges. A camera helps everyone connect, and a comfortable spot with a reliable internet connection helps, too.

How does the trial work?

Try one 50-minute session for $6 per student, with no commitment to continue. After the trial, we’ll invite you to keep going. Continuing requires your acceptance; trying a session doesn’t automatically start a subscription.

What does it cost after the trial?

$24 per student for every four sessions, cancel anytime.

Can we change or cancel?

Yes. You can manage your schedule and turn off future renewals anytime in the app. Sessions are confirmed 24 hours before they begin, so any changes made after that point won’t affect your upcoming session. If you turn off renewal after the first session of your billing cycle is confirmed, you can still attend all your remaining paid sessions. Your plan simply won’t renew for the next cycle.
